The Weekly Times in conjunction with campaign partner Coles has recently launched the 2018 Farmer of the Year Awards. These awards recognise the very best in the farming sector - farmers who inspire and innovate others, who lead the way accomplishing success often in the face of adversity.
Read each week articles about farmers excelling in their chosen field, from industry stalwarts to new industry players. Profiles and stories about successful nominated farmers will be featured in The Weekly Times, theweeklytimes.com.au, Farm and Crop Gear magazines.
The best farmers in six categories – cropping, beef, dairy, sheep, horticulture and niche will be selected. Each category winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize. The Weekly Times Coles 2018 Farmer of the Year will be chosen from these category winners and receive a further $10,000 in cash. Announcement of winners will be at an awards ceremony in Melbourne in February 2019. Winners will be profiled in a special Farmer of the Year magazine, inserted in The Weekly Times, Sunday Herald Sun, The Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Mail (SA) and The Sunday Mail (Qld).
If you know of a farmer who you believe deserves to be recommended for his/her farming endeavors please nominate them now, so that they have the opportunity to be recognised nationally for their achievements and potentially share in $40,000 worth of prize money.
